Things to do in Seefeld

Seefeld in Tirol sits on a plateau at roughly 1,180 m north-west of Innsbruck, reached by the regional VVT train and bus network (check the current timetable and journey time before you travel, since both vary by connection).

The town hosted the Nordic events at the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics and the 2019 Nordic World Ski Championships, and that pedigree still shows in its cross-country trails and ski jumps rather than in a single anniversary display. Winter here means Nordic skiing and biathlon on groomed tracks; summer switches to walking and hiking across the open plateau, which is gentler underfoot than the jagged Karwendel massif visible to the north.

Mid-April to end of May and again in November are between-seasons: several lifts and facilities close for maintenance, so treat any promise of year-round activity with caution and plan around what is actually running.
